The Story
In the 1800’s, Philadelphia was the workshop of the world.
The heart of its manufacturing center was Washington Avenue, then named Prime Street.
Axel Hopsworth was a brewer, entrepreneur, and inventor who lived in the basement of the Prime Street Train Depot, at Broad and Prime Street, tinkering with his beer recipes and latest inventions.
One day, he built a time machine that suddenly transported him throughout Philadelphia’s illustrious history.
Axel met and learned from some of the city's most prominent, cool and quirky citizens, taking inspiration with him from one stop on the timeline to another.
During his time travels, he was devastated to see the decline of the city’s brewing industry during and after prohibition.
But after time hopping to 2024, he was encouraged to see the brewing industry thrive once again.
He realized a new era of culture, food, art, and manufacturing was flourishing in the city.
Axel decided to decommission the time machine, and live in present day, with the goal of opening a new community hub for his creations.
